How to Upload Questrade CSV File

Step 1: Export from IQ Edge

1. Launch IQ Edge desktop application
2. Navigate to Tools → Account from the top menu
3. Click on the Orders tab

Configure Export Columns

4. Right-click anywhere on the Orders table
5. Select "Edit Columns..."
6. In the popup window, check ALL available columns
7. Click OK to apply

Set Date Range

8. Click the "Range" button
9. Select your desired date range (start and end dates)
10. Click OK to load your orders

Save the Export

11. Right-click on the Orders table again
12. Select "Export..."
13. Choose a location (like your Desktop)
14. Save the file as CSV

Step 2: Import into TradeRonin

If You Don't Have a Questrade Account Yet

1. Go to Settings → Accounts
2. Click "+ Add Account"
3. Select account type "Broker (CSV Upload)"
4. Choose Questrade from the broker list
5. Complete the account setup
6. Click "Upload CSV" and select your exported file

If You Already Have a Questrade Account

1. Go to Settings → Accounts
2. Click on your existing Questrade account
3. Click "Upload CSV"
4. Select your exported file
5. Review the import summary and confirm

Required Columns

TradeRonin automatically detects these columns from your Questrade export:

• Symbol — Ticker symbol
• Status — Must be "Executed"
• Action — BTO, STC, BTC, STO, Buy, Sell
• Fill qty — Number of shares/contracts filled
• Fill price — Execution price
• Time placed — Order timestamp (Eastern Time)
• Account — Your account number

Tip: Include ALL columns when exporting for best results. Extra columns are ignored but helpful for debugging.

Options Support

Questrade options trades are fully supported. TradeRonin automatically detects:

• Strike price — From the Strike column
• Expiration date — From the Expiration column
• Option type — Call or Put
• Multiplier — Standard 100x for equity options

Troubleshooting

"No valid trades found"

• Ensure your export contains Executed orders (not just Cancelled)
• Check that the date range includes your trades

"Missing required columns"

Make sure you selected ALL columns in the Edit Columns step. Required columns:

• Symbol, Status, Action, Fill qty, Fill price, Time placed

Duplicate Trades

TradeRonin automatically deduplicates based on the Exchange ID (Exch ID). Re-uploading the same file won't create duplicates.

Wrong Account Matched

If you have multiple Questrade accounts in one export, create separate accounts in TradeRonin for each and filter your CSV before uploading.
